Dear Impact Star,
I've been thinking a lot lately about the funders I know—the ones who seem to have it all together on the surface. Some have access to billions in capital.
But here's what most people miss:
Even these funders have moments of quiet uncertainty. They carry the weight of choosing not just where to put their money, but who to trust with their legacy.
This hit home during a conversation with a top regenerative funder.
"We look at everything," he told me. "Financials, team credentials, pitch deck—our due diligence is intense."
"Would my Magnetic Pitch help them meet your requirements?" I asked.
"Yes, it's excellent—exactly what we look for..."
Then came the revelation:
"But Neesha… at the end of the day, it's a gut check. The pitch is a filter, not the ultimate decider. It's the WHO behind the WHAT that matters to us most."
The intangible essence of the leader determines if a funder says yes or no.
The Hidden Evaluation
What funders are really asking isn't on any due diligence checklist:
Are you running from something or toward something?
Can you maintain composure when everything falls apart?
Are you an ecosystem player or a lone wolf?
Do you know why you’re doing this?
The hard truth? Your personal energetic presence is your most critical investment metric.
Imagine having:
Perfect financials
Breakthrough technology
Killer presentation
And still hearing: "It's not a fit."
Why? Because funding isn't transactional. It’s a social contract between you and those who decide to invest in your big, hairy, audacious goal.
They’re investing in YOU.
So the question is… are you investing in YOU?
It Started With a Walk in the Woods
In October 2022, I started my own investment in myself with a simple commitment: 10,000 steps a day on average.

Last week, I added a weighted vest for muscle and bone strength.
Some months were better than others, but I gave myself grace as long as the average held.
Now it's not just a habit—it's where I have my biggest breakthroughs.
Most of my calls happen while walking.
I’ve listened to 1000+ podcast episodes.
My deepest insights emerge during these daily appointments with myself.
All because I decided to invest in myself first.
It’s not that I don’t work hard — I do. I just also make sure to take care of my body, mind, and spirit. This season I’m in is a marathon, not a sprint.
Your Next Step
If you're ready to start your journey, here's a simple invitation:
Pause. Close your eyes. Take three deep breaths. Ask yourself: "What small thing can I do today to invest in my body, mind, and spirit that would fill me up?"
Do that one thing. Then do it again tomorrow, until it becomes the one non-negotiable gift you give yourself most days — if not every day.
Could be a 5 minute meditation.
Could be three deep breaths.
Could be a 7 minute workout.
This isn't about perfection. It's about presence.
When you start to show up for yourself, you will naturally attract the funders who will show up fully for you.
My warmest,
Neesha
P.S. Reply and tell me what bubbled up for you when you closed your eyes.
P.P.S. If you felt the resistance, drop me a note. This counter-intuitive approach can be hard, especially if you’re in your head a lot…But as David Witzel said while editing, “Regeneration begins at home.”
